I’ll never forget the days I used to watch my dad pick away at his arms incessantly in our home bathroom. I was always so fascinated as to what he was doing. It wouldn’t be until a few years later when I started seeing those same pinkish/white dots on my arms that I would figure it out. And what a relief that was!

What started off as a tiny red patch of skin on my newborn daughter, turned into a journey of eczema, skin allergies and craziness. It also inspired me to invent the ScratchMeNot Flip Mitten, a solution that would forever change our family’s experience with eczema.
My daughter was only 2 months when eczema began to rear its face. I, like many moms, went to the doctor to figure out what was wrong. I was told it was just “baby skin”; to give it time for the dry, redness to clear up. Well, it didn’t. As a matter of fact, it spread to all of her joints, face and scalp. These are memories I wish I could go back and change; the days of having a screaming and crying child all day and all night that rarely slept and constantly scratched. This was our life for months.

As a dermatologist and researcher at a world renowned cancer center, I have had many opportunities in the last 10 years to care for sick patients with severe skin diseases and work with scientists and physicians around the world on research to improve skin health.
Three years ago, I started another gratifying and exciting research project. This time, it was with my father, who is a practicing acupuncturist and herbalist in New York City with over 40 years of clinical experience. We set out to discover an eczema ointment that would offer eczema relief and a remedy for itchy skin. Read more
We’ve interviewed Loma Lux so they can tell you all about their homeopathic pill for eczema and how it works.
ILW: A homeopathic remedy for eczema in pill form? Sounds interesting, what is it and how does it work?
Loma Lux: Yes, we make a tiny little pill that dissolves under the tongue, like all homeopathic granules. This one is formulated just for eczema and we call it the Eczema Pill. Unlike topical products which treat the surface of the skin, this homeopathic remedy for eczema works differently, attacking eczema at the source, by stimulating the body’s own recovery response. Used regularly, our homeopathic remedy for eczema helps prevent flare ups from occurring and can lead to clearer, healthy, itch-free skin day after day. Read more
If you have an itchy baby or an itchy toddler, I don’t need to tell you how impossible of a task it seems to be able to prevent them from scratching their skin. Our innocent little ones turn into these Houdinis that can wiggle and squirm in just the right unbelievable way to reach that pesky itchy spot. And they are relentless in scratching their itchy skin. They will scratch until it hurts and it bleeds because that is the only way they know to make the itching stop. Not only does this intense scratching cause bleeding, but it makes the eczema worse, more inflamed, and many times can create an infection. Obviously, that’s the last thing we want. So, in addition to eczema treatments for babies, just how can you prevent your itchy little one from scratching their itchy skin? Here are a few things you can try: Read more

The term “Eczema” is characterized by a general inflammation of the skin, and covers a broad range of various forms of dermatitis – atopic, contact, xerotic, seborrhoeic, nummular, discoid, venous eczema etc. The typical default treatment (and gold standard) for such generic cases of Eczema is through the prescription and usage of topical corticosteroids. Topical steroid creams provide symptomatic relief of eczematous symptoms – i.e. itchiness, inflammation, weeping, oozing, crusting. As topical steroids treat only the surface symptoms, patients are often encouraged to seek and fix the root cause of their dermatitis. More often than not, when patients eliminate their exposure to the very allergens that cause their dermatitis, their symptoms reside and they do not require additional usage of topical steroids to manage their conditions.
